Attorney Profile

Jonathan Basham first moved to Bend in 1977 as an elementary school teacher. After teaching at R.E. Jewell Elementary School for several years, he attended law school at University of Oregon, where he was voted on to the prestigious Oregon Law Review. After receiving his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1987 and practicing in a large law firm in Seattle, Mr. Basham returned to Bend in 1989.

In addition to publishing articles for the Washington and Oregon State Bar Associations, Mr. Basham has served as president of the Central Oregon Bar Association and an mediator for the United States Bankruptcy Court.

When Mr. Basham is not practicing law, he presides over the Board of Directors of the Bethlehem Inn, the largest homeless shelter in Central Oregon, and oversees the music ministry at Nativity Lutheran Church in Bend. He has been happily married to his wife Beth for 33 years.
